Sushi King Expands Workplace Dining with new outlet at Renesas Penang
PENANG, October 2026 – Sushi King has officially opened its latest workplace outlet at Renesas Penang, marking its fourth workplace location in Penang and reinforcing its commitment to making affordable Japanese cuisine more accessible to Malaysians.
Operated under a convenient grab-and-go concept, the outlet offers Renesas employees a variety of Japanese-inspired food options at affordable prices, with more than 20 menu items available at RM5 and below. The initiative aims to enhance employees’ workplace experience by providing convenient access to quality meals during working hours.
According to Datuk Dr Yuma Konishi, President and Group CEO of Texchem Group, the expansion reflects Sushi King’s strategy to grow beyond traditional restaurant formats and bring Japanese food closer to customers through innovative outlet concepts.
The workplace outlet model complements Sushi King’s existing presence in malls and shoplots, while supporting the brand’s expansion into workplaces and educational institutions through smaller-format kiosks and satellite outlets. Food for the Renesas outlet is prepared at Sushi King’s Queensbay Mall branch before being delivered fresh to the workplace.
The collaboration also aligns with Renesas’ commitment to employee wellbeing by creating a more enjoyable and convenient workplace environment. Following the success of similar workplace outlets at Intel, Flex and Dexcom, future expansion opportunities may also be explored at Renesas facilities in Kedah and Selangor.
With more than 130 outlets nationwide, Sushi King continues to strengthen its position as the world’s largest halal sushi restaurant chain while exploring new ways to serve customers wherever they work, learn and gather.
